Feature Spotlight: Expanded OpenURI Capability
In the upcoming maintenance release of Workgroups, the OpenURI MetaScript functionality has been expanded to allow the opening of records in edit or new mode, programmatically initiate add, edit, update, cancel actions and close a window. This functionality will give administrators the ability to provide improved navigation and easier record creation opportunities.

Smart Tip of the Month: Using the Job Manager API
The most recent versions of the Workgroups Portal contain an API for Job Manager which allows the Job Recorder, Job Charge Out and Outside Purchase areas to be called from outside the system and have data passed to these pages via the URL. As an example, a button can be set up in Virtual Ticket to call the Job Recorder and pass the employee number, the job number and the task code for the activity from fields on the Virtual Ticket form.
