Feature Spotlight: Workflow Scheduling to Document Type Forms

Advanced Workflow and Scheduling 4.0 includes a Design document type under the Job folder type which can be assigned to specific tasks in the schedule. The included Design Ticket includes a small grid which displays the related activity when the activity is ready or is in process. Users can start and finish their activities from this form and also jump to the Job Recorder in Workgroups Portal. The Advanced Workflow and Scheduling functionality on the Design ticket can be moved to other document type records. Knowledge Base article 16304 provides instructions for adding this functionality to other document type forms.

Q&A with Technical Support: Un-post an Invoice

How can I change the Date format in Workgroups Portal?

Date formats in browsers such as Firefox, Internet Explorer and Safari can be changed to reflect region or personal preference. Depending on the browser, there are different methods for changing the date format. Safari's date formats are controlled by the OS X date format and language settings, which can be found in the International Setting section of the Date Time system preference window. Firefox and Internet Explorer date formats are controlled by the language set for each browser in the browser's preferences. For full details on changing the date formats, see Knowledge Base article 16303.

Smart Tip of the Month: Preventing Actions on Records

Have you ever wanted to prevent someone from editing specific records in Virtual Ticket? Suppose you would like to prevent someone from editing the job or any attached records once the job is closed. The example in Knowledge Base article 16302 uses MetaScript to prevent add, edit and delete actions on specific Virtual Ticket forms. This would allow the administrator to establish specific criteria for when records can be added, updated or deleted based on information already in the database. A downloadable example provides form examples of the MetaScript's use.
