Feature Spotlight: Licenses in Use

In the upcoming release, system administrators will have greater ability to track the use of their Workgroups system licenses from within the MetaCommunications Application Server Shell. New to the Activity menu is the Licenses in Use window which display a list of the number of licenses being used by Virtual Ticket and Job Manager, the amount of total space under management for Digital Storage Manager and the number of currently active proofs for Approval Manager. The Licenses in Use window also shows the total licenses for each application which will allow the administrator to easily determine if additional licenses are required.

Q&A with Technical Support: Building a To-Do List for Workflow Scheduling

How can a To-Do list be created for Workflow Scheduling tasks?

The latest version of the Advanced Workflow Scheduling 4.0 solution automatically creates Assignment tickets for the users assigned to the roles present in a job schedule. With these Assignment tickets, To-Do lists can be created to help users quickly locate the tasks they are responsible for completing. System administrators can create Global Finds for users that show all assignments for the user, all assignments due today, all that are due over the next seven days, etc.

Smart Tip of the Month: Configuring a Date Range Find with MetaScript

Beginning with Virtual Ticket 7.0/Digital Storage Manager 2.0, MetaScript can be used in Virtual Ticket and Digital Storage Manager Finds to help Administrators simplify the creation of the Global Finds. One example would be finding all of the jobs that are due over the next thirty days. Using the ServerDate() MetaScript function with the addDays property, such a search can be configured. Knowledge Base Article 16274 provides details for configuring this search.

Additional Resources: Crystal Report Conversion Resources

Users interested in making the switch from reporting via Crystal Reports to SQL Reporting Services have several options available for converting their Crystal Reports to SQL Reports. Several "fee per report" based services are available which will convert your Crystal Reports. At least one program is available from "" for converting your own Crystal Reports, but we recommend downloading the demo before purchasing to verify the product will handle your reports.
