Feature Spotlight

Digital Resources Explorer

The Digital Resources Explorer window of Digital Storage Manager (DSM) and DSM enabled versions of Virtual Ticket provides a hierarchal view of all of the digital resources under management. In this window, users can drill down to see the structure of the file system and locate files in much the same way as they would in the Mac OS X Finder. From this window, files can be easily copied, moved, archived, and revealed in the Finder. Fast access to file previews, properties, and other extracted metadata is available through the context menu for each file. By providing a logical Explorer-like representation of your managed digital resources, the Digital Resource Explorer window allows you to work with a more intuitive, familiar, and powerful tool when performing your Digital Resource related activities.

Smart Tip of the Month

Filtering Notification Recipients

Virtual Ticket 7.0 and Digital Storage Manager 2.0 allow administrators to filter the recipients receiving specific notifications by configuring the Recipients Filter in the Notification setup window. For example, suppose you have a group of 10 people who could receive a notification about a status change of a job but want the notification to only go to the person who is listed as the point of contact on the job ticket. The administrator can configure the notification to use the recipient filter to only send the notification to the point of contact and not the other 9 people located in the group that the notification could be sent to. An example illustrating how to set up a recipient filter can be found in Knowledge Base article 16242.
